North East residents, Lego enthusiasts, and champions of neurodiversity, prepare for an exhilarating journey into the realms of creativity, imagination, and brightly coloured Lego as we unveil the details of the much-anticipated Wey Aye Lego Man 2024 Photography Exhibition. The John Marley Centre, a hidden gem of art deco architecture in the heart of Newcastle, is buzzing with excitement as it readies itself to host the eagerly awaited 2024 Wey Aye Lego Man Photography Exhibition and Opening Party. Building on the resounding success of the 2023 exhibition, this year’s event promises to be an even more colorful and captivating celebration of our shared love for Lego, the talents of local neurodiverse artists, and the beauty of the surrounding region.

Wey Aye Lego Man has always been about empowerment and breaking down barriers for neurodiverse artists. This collaborative exhibition brings together local neurodiverse photographers from the North East, providing them with a platform to showcase their incredible talents and unique perspectives. With the unwavering support of Ngage NE Ltd, New Beginnings NE Ltd, Visual Voice and Breeze Creatives, these artists have shattered preconceived notions and captured the hearts of local residents, Lego enthusiasts and those working in the arts. Their collective goal? To empower each other and break down the barriers that often hinder neurodiverse individuals from accessing the same creative opportunities that many others take for granted.

As one of the artists eloquently puts it, “We want the 2024 exhibition to reach an even bigger audience than 2023, so we can show the art world how passionate and talented we are.”

Wey Aye Lego Man 2024 promises to be a completely different experience from 2023. Yes, it will continue to celebrate the local region and showcase cool-looking Lego characters, but it will also dazzle with a spectacular kaleidoscope of colours and special effects, transporting you to a miniature world brimming with vibrancy and excitement. Each photograph on display will provide a unique glimpse into the artist’s mind, revealing their sense of fun and their distinctive view of the world. It’s a journey back to those fond childhood memories of playing with Lego, and it’s bound to resonate with both the young and the old alike.
As you walk through the exhibition, you’ll encounter a “canny” collection of Lego man photographs, some featuring local landmarks and others experimenting with light painting and other photographic effects. If you want a cultural art experience that can appeal to everyone’s sense of fun this event is for you. It will be “purely belta”!
