North East art lovers, LEGO fans, and champions of creativity—get ready. Wey Aye LEGO Man is back for 2026, and this year it’s bigger, bolder, and officially award-winning.
After taking home the 2025 Markel 3rd Sector Care Award for Creative Arts, this unique exhibition returns to One Strawberry Lane in Newcastle with an exciting new evolution that pushes the boundaries of what LEGO can be.

🏆 From Recognition to Reinvention
Winning a national award has only fuelled the ambition behind Wey Aye LEGO Man. What started as a celebration of neurodivergent creativity has grown into a powerful, multi-layerled art experience that continues to challenge perceptions and inspire audiences.
In 2026, we’re not just building on last year—we’re levelling up.
🎨 What’s New for 2026?
This year’s exhibition introduces an exciting new dimension:
🧍♂️ Large-Scale LEGO Figures by Professional Artists
Alongside the much-loved customised LEGO minifigures, professional local artists have been invited to create large LEGO figures, bringing bold new scale and presence to the exhibition.
These striking pieces transform LEGO into something truly monumental—blending sculpture, storytelling, and contemporary art in ways you’ve never seen before.
🧩 Customised LEGO Figures from Across the UK
Artists from across the UK once again reimagine LEGO minifigures in their own unique styles—playful, political, abstract, and everything in between.

📸 LEGO Photography by Neurodivergent Artists
At the heart of the exhibition remains its most important voice:
neurodivergent photographers, capturing the world through LEGO in imaginative, colourful, and deeply personal ways.
From dramatic splash photography to bold pop-art portraits and creative cityscapes, each image tells a story—brick by brick.

💡 A Celebration of Creativity and Inclusion
Wey Aye LEGO Man isn’t just an exhibition—it’s a platform.
It shines a spotlight on neurodivergent talent, breaks down barriers in the arts, and creates space for collaboration between artists of all backgrounds. The combination of photography, sculpture, and community storytelling creates something truly special:
👉 A place where play meets purpose
👉 Where nostalgia meets contemporary art
👉 Where every perspective matters
